The need for social media is incredibly vital because of its inherent ability to communicate directly with our end beneficiary.

Beaconsfield, QC – Feb 27, 2012 – The rest of February did not disappoint as the HWDF was able to secure a French curriculum for tutoring, a resource sharing partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters West Island, the initiation of several referral partnerships to help source students in need, and the official launch of the Nexus Core.

With several tutors in both elementary and junior high school level math and french, the HWDF has developed an online relationship management software called the Nexus Core. A big thanks to all our developing team lead by Justin Freedin and designer Pascal Quimper. The Nexus Core is meant to help coordinate our tutors in the field with both parents and students through appointment scheduling, billing and online settlement, student and tutor feedback, and additional information on either the matched student or tutor. The HWDF team developed this solution with the convenience of a one stop shop for tutors, students, and parents.

A part from facilitating scheduling, online settlement, and participant information sharing, The Nexus Core provides a very important inlet for participants to share their thoughts on their experience, the quality of the matches, the relative degree of effectiveness of the program, and their recommendations to consider. Continually upholding a culture of two way communication will allow the HWDF to remain flexible and aware of the potential problem areas and expedite the implementation of appropriate solutions.

Beaconsfield, QC – Feb 15, 2012 – First off, to everyone, a happy belated Valentine’s Day. This February was a monumental month for our organization. First, we not only added French language tutoring to our already growing math offering through our banner Nexus Tutoring we have also began preliminary talks with the Big Brother Big Sisters West Island chapter on potential partnership between our respective foundations.

Within the province of Quebec, French spoken and written are incredibly important assets to any child’s academic and professional development. That is why we are absolutely thrilled to begin offering French tutorials! Because of its necessity to all Quebec citizens, French was a unanimous addition. Through the collective efforts of our administration and academic directors, we have put together, what we believe to be a formidable curriculum.

The Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization is a reputable organization. Their dedication to mentorship is incredible and we consider it a privilege to work with them. While the details have yet to be finalized, we hope to be offering our services through the West Island Big Brother and Big Sisters chapter. We hope this not only brings the greater legitimacy to our initiative but it will help expand our reach to other deserving candidates.

“Getting our papers and registration number has been at the top of our priorities since early Q4″, says Sameer Soni, President & CEO of the HWDF. “The challenge is always to establish a reputation for what we’ve been trying to do here, and I think the crew really deserves this one. We look forward to growing our programs for the rest of the scholastic year and have some high expectations for them…I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people around me.”

As you may know, the approval of the HWDF has several implications which include improved transparency with the Canadian Government through several annual reporting requirements, the ability to offer tax receipts to donors, and will likely benefit from reduced fees from several ongoing partnerships.
